Voice chat would be a nice addition, however, as others pointed out here, I don't believe it's a necessity for KartRider as I feel that it can introduce toxic behavior which is a lot more difficult to moderate than it is to moderate text-based chat. The ability to text chat, of course, be it in the pre-game lobby, and post-race.
That is, the ability to create a public lobby and have anyone be able to join so long as there are enough spots available. A social system that is similar to a combination of the original KartRider and Rush+ would be nice.
